In Literacy class, we are still working on the book The Dot. Let´s remember that this book fosters students’ creativity, self-confidence, and growth mindset. By incorporating this book into our Reggio project, we help kids to embrace unique abilities such as mixing colors to form new ones.
Kids wore color-mixing glasses to see everything in a certain color. We started with the color blue. I asked them to observe everything through that color. Then, they colored a dot with a blue crayon. We did the same with the other primary colors: red and yellow. Finally, we combined 2 different colored lenses to mix the colors and see what color was formed. Kids had to color a dot of the color they formed. Kids were amazed to know they can create colors with only three of them.

Combinando colores
En la clase de Literacy, seguimos trabajando con el libro «The Dot». Recordemos que este libro fomenta la creatividad y la confianza en sí mismos. Al incorporarlo a nuestro proyecto Reggio, ayudamos a los niños a desarrollar habilidades únicas, como mezclar colores para formar nuevos.
Los niños usaron lentes para mezclar colores y ver todo de un color determinado. Empezamos con el azul. Les pedí que observaran todo a través de ese color. Luego, colorearon un punto con azul. Hicimos lo mismo con los otros colores primarios: rojo y amarillo. Finalmente, combinamos dos lentes de diferentes colores para mezclar los colores y ver qué color se formaba. Los niños tenían que colorear un punto del color que formaban. Se sorprendieron al saber que eran capaces de crear colores con solo tres de ellos.
