Last month, the first grade students started a fun project in English class called “My House.” They learned the names of the rooms in a house like kitchen, bedroom, living room, and bathroom. To practice the words, they made their own little paper houses.
This project helped them learn new English words, but it also helped them practice other skills like cutting, folding, and gluing. They had to follow steps and work carefully, so they also practiced paying attention, being patient, and using their creativity.
The best part is that the project is still going! The students wanted to keep adding more things to their houses. They have made furniture, decorations, and even little people that live and play inside their houses. Some students are even creating stories with their characters!
This project shows that learning English can be fun and creative—especially when we use our hands and imagination!
We are so proud of how much our children have learned and how excited they are to keep building and imagining. Their houses show not only their English skills, but also their big hearts and creative minds!
Construye y aprende: «My House Project»
Durante el mes pasado, los alumnos de primer grado trabajaron en un divertido y educativo proyecto en inglés: “My House”. A través de esta actividad, los niños practicaron el vocabulario de los cuartos de la casa como kitchen, bedroom, living room y bathroom, mientras construían su propia casita de papel.
Este proyecto no solo reforzó el aprendizaje del idioma, sino que también fortaleció importantes habilidades psicomotrices, como el recortado, doblado y pegado. Además, al trabajar con sus manos y seguir instrucciones paso a paso, los estudiantes desarrollaron su atención, paciencia y creatividad.
Lo más emocionante es que el proyecto sigue creciendo: los niños, motivados por su imaginación, han decidido agregarle más detalles a sus casas. Han incluido muebles, decoración y hasta pequeños personajes que interactúan dentro de cada espacio, creando verdaderas historias en miniatura.
Sin duda, este tipo de experiencias demuestran que aprender puede ser tan divertido como significativo, especialmente cuando se construye con las manos… ¡y con el corazón!
Estamos muy orgullosos de todo lo que han aprendido y de ver lo emocionados que están por seguir construyendo e imaginando. Sus casitas no solo muestran lo que saben en inglés, sino también su gran imaginación y creatividad.
