In Villa Educativa we celebrated women not only on International Women’s Day on March 8, but during the whole month.
In teacher Robert’s Oral Workshop classes, our students from lower primary have been practicing simple present with the use of adverbs to describe actions and adjectives of appearance such as beauty, size, height, eye and hair color and personality adjectives such as polite, kind, intelligent, smart, creative…
Students were handed out a pink or purple paper in which they were asked to choose their favorite woman and draw her on the center of the page.
Once they finished drawing, first graders wrote key words and second and third graders wrote sentences that describe the chosen woman using adjectives and adverbs, plus likes/dislikes and their favorite woman’s favorite color, food, animal, place, activity and friend.
At the end of the activity, each student orally presented his/her paper on their Favorite Woman reading her description to the whole class.
Students had fun trying to guess who their classmates’ Favorite Woman was.
Mi mujer favorita
En Villa Educativa hemos celebrado a la mujer no solamente el “Día Internacional de la Mujer” el 8 de marzo, sino durante todo el mes.
En la clase de Oral Workshop del profesor Roberto, nuestros alumnos de primaria baja han estado practicando el presente simple con el uso de adverbios para describir acciones y adjetivos de la apariencia física, tal como la belleza, talla, altura, color de ojos y cabello, así como adjetivos de la personalidad como amabilidad, bondad, inteligencia, creatividad.
Los alumnos recibieron una hoja de papel rosa o morada en la que debían dibujar la mujer favorita de su elección. Una vez que terminaron, los pequeños de primer grado escribieron a su alrededor palabras clave; los alumnos de segundo y tercer grado escribieron oraciones en presente simple utilizando adjetivos, adverbios y los gustos preferidos de su mujer favorita.
Al concluir la actividad, cada alumno presentó su trabajo y describió de forma oral a su mujer favorita frente a todo el grupo. Los alumnos se divirtieron al tratar de adivinar quién era la mujer que los compañeros describían.
