In order to make practicing grammar rules more fun we have been playing a game called “Guess The Sentence” with our third graders. This game takes Pictionary to the next level, since a student has to draw a scene where an action is taking place while the other has to guess what is happening and write a sentence that goes along with the drawing in a specific tense. This allows students to be more conscious about the grammatical structures while also practicing verbs and vocabulary. By practicing in pairs, they can also get the support and help of their peers since the person who draws the scene has to tell the other person if their sentence is correct.
We invite you to play this type of game at home to continue strengthening writing abilities in a fun way.
Adivinando la oración
Para hacer que el aprendizaje de las reglas gramaticales sea más divertido, hemos estado practicando un juego llamado «Adivina la oración» con nuestros estudiantes de tercero. Este juego lleva el Pictionary a otro nivel, ya que un estudiante tiene que dibujar una escena donde ocurre una acción, mientras que el otro tiene que adivinar qué está sucediendo y escribir una oración que se relacione con el dibujo en un tiempo verbal específico.
Esto permite que los estudiantes sean más conscientes de las estructuras gramaticales mientras practican verbos y vocabulario. Al practicar en parejas, también pueden recibir el apoyo y la ayuda de sus compañeros, ya que la persona que dibuja la escena tiene que decirle al otro si su oración es correcta.
Los invitamos a practicar este tipo de juegos en casa para seguir fortaleciendo las habilidades de escritura de una manera divertida.
