2o: Taco Restaurant: A Meaningful and Joyful Learning Experience

Filled with laughter, excitement, and lots of flavor, second grade students enjoyed an unforgettable experience as they transformed their classroom into a colorful “Taco Restaurant.”

This activity, inspired by the reading “So Do You Want To Grow a Taco?”, allowed students to learn in a meaningful and engaging way. Through a role-play activity, children became restaurant customers, while their teachers took on the role of taqueras, guiding them through a fun and creative learning experience.

With great enthusiasm, students practiced basic English expressions such as “Hello,” “What would you like?” and “I want a taco, please,” showing confidence and excitement while communicating in a second language. Each interaction became an opportunity to build confidence and enjoy the learning process.

One of the most special moments was when the teachers prepared the tacos using the ingredients that each student brought from home, making the activity collaborative and meaningful, as everyone contributed to the experience.


Restaurante de tacos: Una experiencia de aprendizaje significativa y alegre
Entre risas, entusiasmo y mucho sabor, los alumnos de segundo de primaria vivieron una experiencia inolvidable al transformar su salón de clases en un colorido “Taco Restaurant”.

Esta actividad, inspirada en la lectura “So Do You Want To Grow a Taco?”, permitió a los estudiantes aprender de una manera significativa y divertida. A través de un juego de roles, los niños se convirtieron en clientes de un restaurante, mientras que sus maestras asumieron el papel de taqueras, guiándolos en una experiencia llena de aprendizaje y creatividad.

Con gran emoción, los alumnos practicaron frases en inglés como “Hello”, “What would you like?” y “I want a taco, please”, demostrando seguridad y entusiasmo al comunicarse en un segundo idioma. Cada interacción fue una oportunidad para fortalecer su confianza y disfrutar el proceso de aprender.

Actividades como esta nos recuerdan que aprender también puede ser emocionante, cercano y memorable, dejando huellas positivas en cada uno de nuestros alumnos.
