Kinder 2 B students developed their fine motor skills while they expanded their imagination and artistic expression. I organized a Follow the Road cutting challenge with the main objective of promoting scissor skills in a fun way.
They received a sheet of paper with a road drawn across the page. Kids were asked to carefully follow the road using their scissors, trying to stay as close to the lines as possible. For this activity, they required concentration, hand-eye coordination, and control. Some roads were curvy and narrow, while others had turns and zigzags. Once they completed the first part of the activity and followed the road to the end instead of throwing the paper away, we decided to reuse it to promote creativity.
Kids cut the same paper into many tiny pieces. This step allowed them to continue practicing their scissor skills, this time working on making smaller cuts.
Then they used them to create a mosaic-style artwork. They carefully glued the small pieces into a new sheet of paper, arranging them to form unique and creative designs. Some chose to create landscapes, others designed abstract patterns, animals. Each artwork reflected their personality and creativity.
Sigue el camino
Los alumnos de Kinder 2 B desarrollaron sus habilidades motoras finas mientras expandían su imaginación y expresión artística. Organicé un desafío de recorte llamado Sigue el camino con el objetivo principal de promover las habilidades con las tijeras de una manera divertida.
Recibieron una hoja de papel con un camino dibujado a lo largo de la página. A los niños se les pidió que siguieran cuidadosamente el camino con sus tijeras, tratando de mantenerse lo más cerca posible de las líneas. Para esta actividad necesitaban concentración, coordinación ojo-mano y control. Algunos caminos eran curvos y estrechos, mientras que otros tenían giros y zigzags.
Una vez que completaron la primera parte de la actividad y siguieron el camino hasta el final, en lugar de tirar el papel decidimos reutilizarlo para fomentar la creatividad.
Los niños cortaron el mismo papel en muchos pedacitos pequeños. Este paso les permitió continuar practicando sus habilidades con las tijeras, esta vez trabajando en hacer cortes más pequeños. Luego, utilizaron esos pedacitos para crear una obra de arte en estilo mosaico. Pegaron cuidadosamente los pequeños trozos en una nueva hoja de papel, organizándolos para formar diseños únicos y creativos. Algunos eligieron crear paisajes, otros diseñaron patrones abstractos o animales. Cada obra reflejó la personalidad y creatividad de cada alumno.
