The 6th Grade Science Fair this year centered on the theme of body systems. This topic is particularly relevant given the increasingly unhealthy habits in modern life, such as excessive screen time, poor diet, and lack of protection from urban environmental hazards. It is vital that students grasp how their choices affect their physical well-being.
A core aim of 6th grade is fostering independence, maturity, and proactivity in our students, and these qualities were central to this project’s success. Students demonstrated independence by completing their own investigations, showed maturity through responsible use of their allocated time, and exhibited proactivity in seeking solutions to challenges. These three crucial life skills were evident throughout the project.
I am immensely proud of the dedication and effort demonstrated by all our students. The Science Fair was a rewarding and successful event, providing a wonderful opportunity for parents to view their children’s work and for students to share their accomplishments with their families.
We have now reached the halfway point of the 6th-grade year, with many more learning experiences, hard work, and memories still ahead.
Feria de Ciencias de 6o Grado
La Feria de Ciencias de 6.º Grado de este año se centró en el tema de los sistemas del cuerpo humano. Este es un tema importante considerando que nuestras vidas son, en general, menos saludables que en el pasado. Ya sea por pasar demasiado tiempo en dispositivos electrónicos, comer alimentos poco saludables o no proteger nuestros cuerpos de los daños de nuestra ciudad. Es esencial que los estudiantes comprendan cómo sus acciones impactan en sus cuerpos.
En 6o grado, intentamos fomentar la independencia, la madurez y la proactividad en todos nuestros estudiantes, y estas tres fueron palabras clave en el núcleo de nuestro proyecto. Independencia para completar su investigación. Madurez para trabajar y ser responsables con el tiempo asignado. Proactividad para encontrar las respuestas cuando no las tienen. Estas son tres habilidades importantes que nuestros estudiantes necesitan aprender para su futuro, y son habilidades que todos demostraron durante este proyecto.
Estoy extremadamente orgulloso del trabajo que nuestros estudiantes han completado y exhibido. La Feria de Ciencias fue una gran experiencia y un éxito para todos. Es maravilloso que los padres vean el trabajo de sus hijos y que los niños compartan sus logros con sus familias.
Ya hemos llegado a la mitad del 6.º grado. Aún nos queda mucho más trabajo, experiencias y recuerdos por crear.
