This week in Public Speaking, students practiced their storytelling abilities. Students were given cards with words or pictures on them and had to create a fairytale story using the cards provided and past tense verb forms. Students used their creativity and imagination to tell fantasy stories about animals and their adventures.
Each group discussed what story they would like to tell, wrote their fairytale, and then presented it to the class. We all enjoyed hearing what silly stories could be created with the cards given. One group told a story of a sheep that smelled like onions and had to take a shower in order to make friends! The students also engaged in a word game called ‘Complete the Story’ where each student in the circle adds one word to the story until it is complete. We also learned storytelling phrases like “Once upon a time,” “in the end” and “Happily ever after.”
Overall, the students had a great time practising their writing, creativity and public speaking skills in English! We look forward to having more fun together next week!

Esta semana en la clase de Public Speaking, los estudiantes practicaron sus habilidades para contar historias. Se les entregaron tarjetas con palabras o imágenes y tuvieron que crear un cuento de hadas usando las tarjetas proporcionadas y verbos en tiempo pasado. Los estudiantes usaron su creatividad e imaginación para contar historias fantásticas sobre animales y sus aventuras.
Cada grupo discutió qué historia quería contar, escribió su cuento de hadas y luego lo presentó ante la clase. Todos disfrutamos escuchando las historias divertidas que podían surgir con las tarjetas dadas. ¡Un grupo contó la historia de una oveja que olía a cebolla y tuvo que bañarse para poder hacer amigos!
Los estudiantes también participaron en un juego de palabras llamado “Completa la Historia”, en el que cada estudiante en el círculo añadía una palabra a la historia hasta que estuviera completa. También aprendimos frases típicas para contar cuentos como “Érase una vez”, “al final” y “vivieron felices para siempre”.
En general, ¡los estudiantes se divirtieron mucho practicando sus habilidades de escritura, creatividad y expresión oral en inglés! ¡Esperamos seguir divirtiéndonos juntos la próxima semana!
