For the past few weeks, our K3 students have been learning about our natural satellite, the Moon. We heard a story about how the moon changes every other night and the importance of the scientific method when facing new phenomena. The story is called What Shape Is the Moon? by Bo-Hyun, and it tells the story of a group of animals that can’t get along because each one thinks the moon has a particular shape.
After hearing the story, the kids reflected on how it is important to listen to different opinions and research to know and learn the truth, which can be subjective sometimes.
We created a collage with textured paper. This activity was pencil-free, which means we used our fine motor skills to recreate the moon phases in our collage. Our boys and girls were thrilled with the results.
Cambios mágicos
Durante las últimas semanas, K3 ha estado aprendiendo sobre nuestro satélite natural: La Luna. Escuchamos una historia sobre cómo la Luna cambia en las noches y sobre la importancia del método científico cuando nos enfrentamos a un fenómeno nuevo. La historia se llama ¿Qué forma tiene la Luna? de Bo-Hyun, y cuenta la historia de un grupo de animales que no logran llevarse bien porque cada uno cree que la Luna tiene una forma diferente.
Después de escuchar la historia, los niños reflexionaron sobre lo importante que es conocer diferentes opiniones e investigar para saber y aprender la verdad, la cual a veces puede ser subjetiva.
Creamos un collage con papel texturizado; esta actividad fue libre de lápices, lo que significa que usamos nuestras habilidades motoras finas y tijeras para recrear las fases de la Luna en nuestro collage. Nuestros pequeños quedaron encantados con los resultados.
