This week, our students put their creativity and English skills to the test in a fun and interactive speaking activity! Using their Chromebooks, or their drawing abilities, they designed their dream communities, incorporating words from List 9 of their Communicative Skills curriculum.
After sketching their ideal neighborhoods, students came to the front of the class to present their work. They explained which places they included—such as bookshops, stadiums, cinemas, and theaters—and described how they arranged everything. Some chose to place schools near quiet areas, while others designed busy downtown zones with lots of entertainment. The best part? Hearing their reasons behind each decision!
The goal of this activity was to reinforce vocabulary through real-world application while building confidence in spoken English. And they did an amazing job! Not only did they improve their language skills, but they also shared some fantastic ideas for future cities. Who knows? Maybe one day we’ll see these dream communities come to life!
Construyendo sueños: ¡Los estudiantes diseñan y describen sus comunidades ideales!
Esta semana, nuestros estudiantes pusieron a prueba su creatividad y habilidades en inglés con una actividad oral divertida e interactiva. Usando sus Chromebooks y sus habilidades para dibujar, diseñaron sus comunidades soñadas, incorporando palabras de la Lista 9 de la materia Communicative Skills.
Después de diseñar sus comunidades ideales, los estudiantes pasaron al frente de la clase para presentar sus trabajos. Explicaron qué lugares incluyeron —tales como librerías, estadios, cines y teatros— y describieron cómo los organizaron. Algunos optaron por ubicar escuelas en zonas tranquilas, mientras que otros diseñaron áreas urbanas concurridas con mucho entretenimiento. ¡Lo mejor fue escuchar sus razones detrás de cada decisión!
El objetivo de esta actividad fue reforzar el vocabulario mediante su aplicación práctica, al mismo tiempo que desarrollaban confianza en su expresión oral en inglés ¡y lo hicieron increíblemente bien! No solo mejoraron sus habilidades lingüísticas, sino que también compartieron ideas fantásticas para las ciudades del futuro. ¿Quién sabe? ¡Tal vez algún día veamos estas comunidades soñadas hacerse realidad!
