In our Literacy class, we are reading “The Dot,” a book that encourages confidence and creativity in kids. This book is full of colors: a red dot, a purple dot, a yellow dot, a big pink dot, and a little green dot, allowing kids to discover that mixing colors could make new colors. For the new Reggio Project, K1 students are experimenting with colors, this book complements this project.
But what is more important is that our kids are learning about giving everything a try, even the smallest actions or activities are worth trying to do. Preschool children are learning to become independent and what they can accomplish on their own. We need to continue encouraging them to try new things and to feel confident about them.
“The Dot”: Historia que celebra el espíritu creativo en cada uno
En nuestra clase de Literacy estamos leyendo «The Dot», un libro que fomenta la confianza y la creatividad en los niños. Este libro está lleno de colores: un punto rojo, un punto morado, un punto amarillo, un punto rosa grande y un punto verde pequeño, lo que permite a los niños descubrir que mezclar colores puede crear nuevos. Para el nuevo proyecto Reggio, los alumnos de K1 están experimentando con los colores; este libro complementa dicho proyecto.
Pero lo más importante es que nuestros niños están aprendiendo a intentarlo todo; incluso las acciones o actividades más pequeñas merecen intentarlas. Los niños de preescolar están aprendiendo a ser independientes y a reconocer lo que pueden lograr por sí solos. Necesitamos seguir animándolos a probar cosas nuevas y a sentirse seguros de ellas.
