After exploring the parts of a plant and observing how a classmate planted a bean seed as part of an investigation to discover where our favorite food, enfrijoladas<\/em>, comes from, we began our own mini garden project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our kids planted different types of seeds, such as birdseed, beans, sunflower seeds, and chili seeds. Each child decorated a bag with a drawing of a pot, where they placed their seeds. Later, we brought them into the classroom to observe them, take care of them, and say kind words to help them grow strong and healthy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children were encouraged to explore, ask questions, and express their ideas freely. During the vacation period, kids documented the growth of their plants by drawing and writing in their journals, which they also created themselves. They observed changes, recorded what they saw, and reflected on how their plants were growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the holidays, our kiddos returned with their plants and journals to share their observations with the group. Most of the kids  began to form conclusions about what helped their plants grow, such as water, sunlight, and care, or what may have been missing for their plants to grow well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This experience encouraged children to be curious, take care of living things, observe closely, and build a meaningful relationship with nature through active, hands-on exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
