It is important to us that our kids enjoy their first days of school, begin to bond with us, and connect to each other. For some, this may be their very first school experience, while for others, saying goodbye to their previous classroom and teacher can be a challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why we place great emphasis on working through the adaptation process using emotions as a foundation. When children can recognize and name their emotions, it becomes much easier for them to express themselves healthily and appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Setting agreements is also a key part of creating a positive and respectful classroom environment. After reflecting together on kind words, how to set boundaries appropriately, and the best ways to play with their classmates, our students shared and illustrated the agreements they felt were important for our classroom. We posted them on the wall so they are always visible and can be reviewed if they need it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting to know our students also means recognizing their individual abilities. This allows us to build upon those strengths, identify specific needs, and support their growth even further. To do this, we incorporate activities such as classification, pre-writing patterns, pattern following, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are truly impressed by the abilities our little ones have already shown. We are confident that throughout the school year, they will continue to learn, grow, and develop new skills. Skills that will surely surprise you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
