K2 graders have been exploring the human body from the inside, but one question arose: What holds all that magic together? The answer was simple: Our Skin!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past few weeks, kids from K2 discovered that skin is crucial to our bodies because it is the first barrier and protector of our bodies. We also learned that skin changes every day and that we all have different skin tones. As part of our discovery journey, boys and girls from K2 tried to recreate their skin tone with watercolors. This activity not only helped them to enhance their observation skills, but it also made them realize that what we usually know as \u201cflesh color\u201d is mistaken, because flesh comes in different tones. Therefore, we renamed that color to \u201cPeach\u201d or \u201cSalmon.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This discovery was amazing because we observed the marvelous melanin scheme in every classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
