In first grade, learning becomes more fun when we use our hands to create. Recently, our young students participated in two craft activities that not only reinforced their English skills but also demonstrated how these practices can activate their brains and make learning more meaningful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first activity, the children built a beautiful rainbow while reviewing the colors in English. Each arc was made of paper stripes they organized and glued in the correct order, repeating the color names out loud. The second activity involved creating a flower using the indefinite articles a and an. Each petal contained an English noun that the children correctly matched with the appropriate article, reinforcing this grammar rule through a hands-on exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why do we focus on crafts? Studies in neuroscience and education have shown that hands-on activities stimulate multiple areas of the brain. As children cut, glue, or color, they\u2019re not only using their motor skills but also developing cognitive abilities such as memory, concentration, and critical thinking. Moreover, by integrating concepts like colors or grammar with tangible experiences, students establish deeper connections that help them retain what they\u2019ve learned over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen we use our hands, we don\u2019t just learn, we also have fun,\u201d said Sofi, one of the first-grade students, proudly showing off her completed flower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With activities like these, our school aims to make learning an integral experience where knowledge is not only memorized but also lived and enjoyed. Congratulations to our students for their enthusiasm and dedication!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
